What do you do with an expired 35mm Walgreens disposable camera bought from eBay? 
Dream walk back in time in an unconscious state…  



















































Anticipating the possibly faded result I would obtain, I used a thrifted 35mm Walgreens disposable camera with an unknown expiration date. I photographed Chinatown in New York City, simulating the perspective of someone dreamwalking back in time in an unconscious state. After post-processing the initially dull scanned color negatives in Adobe Lightroom, I managed to enhance and reveal some scenes. With heavy grains and tinted hues, the project Somnambulating Chinatown explores the peculiar dreamcore feelings of what could have been a scene from my childhood, influenced by familiar culture yet set in completely unfamiliar geographies.
